The first paintball gun was invented for the sole purpose of marking trees and cattle. It wasn't until June 27, 1981 that 12 hunting enthusiasts decided to use the paint markers in the first ever game of paintball. The first ever game was based on the rules to capture the flag and the sport has been growing and evolving ever since!
