Airsoft rifles are different because they shoot plastic B.B.’s, whereas a true B.B. gun shoots metal pellets. Airsoft rifles are also safer because they generally shoot at a velocity of under 500 feet per second while B.B. guns shoot at a velocity of 1000 feet per second or more.
